Ian O'Brien, a North Texas artist, explores the matchbook as a dismissed item. O'Brien on the contrary sees them as something to be saved as a souvenir. 

In his work, he considers the interior of these matchbooks in relation to the image, text or numbers on the cover and spine, incorporates this information documenting this travels as a journal or response to an important landmark.
