Mollie Oblinger’s exhibition "Verdant Expanse" blooms from the walls of cactus bra from May 4th-June 2, 2007. Oblinger’s wall mounted sculptures are a playful infusion of traditional and non-traditional materials, including wood, pom-poms, felt and foam. Her work, inspired by termite dwellings and internal body functions, organically jut from the walls creating a brightly colored environment for the viewer to explore.

Oblinger received an MFA from the University of California Davis in 2005. She received the Roswell Artist in Residence grant for 2005-2006. Currently she resides in Portales, NM and teaches at Eastern New Mexico University.
