Jennings presents
recent paintings on grip-tape developed from the artist's
experiments with video-feedback.
Lawrence is an artist and teacher working in San Antonio. In
1993-1996 he studied visual art at San Antonio College. He received
his MFA in Painting from The University of Texas at San Antonio in
2002. His work has been included in solo and group shows in San
Antonio and Dallas. Laminae, at Sala Diaz in 2005, included
a site-specific wall painting and video installation, fractal shaped
acrylic-sheet paintings, and sculpture made from skateboards. His
most recent work is a series of abstract paintings on
silicon-carbide grip-tape that borrow their patterns from
video-feedback loops. He has contributed writings for ARTL!ES, and a
recent essay for Hills Snyder’s Casual / Causal Observer
installation at Blue Star.
