A sectional experimental work dealing with the representation of nature
and man-made ‘constructs.’
Abstract
concepts/constructions, fabrications will be collectively represented.
Recent
exhibitions of his work have included representations about nature
featuring figures and constructed environments.
Works often
question the notion of what is being represented and the tension between
the fabricated representation and the original.. He has developed a
system/inventory of components (elements/characters/images) that appear
in his presentations in random rotation. Through the use of this
reproduction, The variations presented employing these components are
usually non linear and infinite.
The influence
of virtual/digital technology and design is often used as the source for
works- in the way the visual information is superimposed in successive
layers within the works.
The process
involves the arranging and reconfiguring of a variety of observable and
physical phenomena, including signs/figures and landscape and
architectural references, recognizable imagery.
Robbins work is
represented and shown in collections of Dallas CBD division of public
works, the Amarillo Museum of Art among others.
