Hydroplaning is an interactive display that
mimics the marriage of mourning and celebration. The installation is
something between a birthday party and a funeral viewing. It
examines the moment of limbo when each of us faces the choice of how
to live life—to live for the moment or to wait until tomorrow.
Certificates are available for viewers to sign.
Viewers are encouraged to take a free memento.
Leona Scull-Hons received her MFA from the
University of Texas, Austin in 2004, and her BFA from the University
of Texas, San Antonio in 2001.
